About
Hi, I’m Emilie!

I’m a UI/UX designer living in Boulder, CO, formerly NYC, and originally from a tiny coastal town in southeastern Connecticut. I don’t know much about astrology, but as a Pisces, I feel a gravitational pull towards the ocean—especially in my current landlocked life.
I’m a proud University of Michigan grad (Go Blue!) with a BFA from the Stamps School of Art & Design, an undying love for Michigan football, and a passion for all things Motown.
I’ve been making things for as long as I can remember, but have found my niche in functional art—where elegance meets utility through design, documentary photography, and wheel-thrown ceramics. Each practice has shaped me differently: photography taught me how to tell a story, pottery taught me how to embrace imperfection and trust the process, and design taught me to think critically, adapt, and respond with intention.
When I’m not making things, I’m likely outdoors hiking, camping, skiing, swimming, going to concerts—literally and figuratively touching grass. Travel has also always been a big part of my life, and I’m grateful for the privilege to explore. Next on my list: Chile, Brazil, Morocco, Japan, and Southeast Asia. In work, art, and life, I strive to broaden my horizons and challenge my beliefs with curiosity and kindness.

Principles
Lead with empathy.
We design for real people. I listen to what they need, what gets in their way, and what makes them happy, and I keep those things at the heart of every design choice I make.
Keep it simple.
Complexity can really get in the way of our instincts. Let’s cut out the unnecessary stuff and make sure everything we include has a reason to be there. Our designs should come off as easygoing and simple, yet still have that touch of elegance.
Progress by iteration.
AI helps us move, vision sets the direction. Start messy, make fast, learn faster. Sketch it, test it, tweak it—repeat. I’m not chasing perfect, I’m chasing better. The easy idea’s just the first step; I’m here to push past it.
Let’s work together!

Lead with empathy.
We design for real people. I listen to what they need, what gets in their way, and what makes them happy, and I keep those things at the heart of every design choice I make.
Keep it simple.
Complexity gets in the way of good instincts. Let’s strip out anything extra and make sure every part has a reason to be there. My goal is designs that feel easy, natural, and simple without trying too hard.
Progress by iteration.
